A little further from familiar

Everything I thought I needed — I packed the bag, unpacked it, and removed exactly one shirt. It took the first few weeks to learn that travelling lighter meant making decisions before leaving the room.

The view I had to walk for — The climb made the morning smaller: the next bend, the next breath, a stop for water. When the hills opened up, I stayed longer than I had planned.

Home looked different — I thought the last entry would be about another destination. Instead it is about recognising my own street and feeling glad. Going away taught me to notice arriving.
